How to Sign Up on Polymarket — Step-by-Step Guide
Creating a Polymarket account takes under 3 minutes. All you need is an email address. This guide walks you through every screen so you know exactly what to expect.
Note for US-based fans: The global Polymarket platform is currently in view-only mode for US IPs. A regulated US version is being rolled out — visit polymarket.com to join the waitlist.
What You’ll Need
- An email address (or a Google account for faster sign-up)
- 3 minutes
- USDC or a credit card to fund your account after sign-up — our funding guide covers this separately
Step 1 — Go to Polymarket and Click Sign Up
Go to polymarket.com. In the top right corner you’ll see a blue Sign Up button. Click it.

Step 2 — Enter Your Email or Continue with Google
A popup appears with two options:
- Continue with Google — fastest option, links your Google account
- Enter your email address — type your email and click Continue
You can also connect a crypto wallet if you already have one, but email is the simplest route if you’re new.

Step 3 — Verify Your Email
If you chose the email route, Polymarket sends a verification code to your inbox. Check your email, find the code, and enter it in the box that appears.
The verification is handled by Magic — a secure authentication service. You’ll see their logo on the verification screen. This is normal.

Step 4 — Choose Your Username
Next you’ll be asked to pick a username. A few things to note on this screen:
- Your username can be changed later — don’t overthink it
- There’s an optional Referral Code field — if you’re signing up through our link, this may be filled automatically
- Tick the checkbox to agree to the Terms of Use and confirm you’re eligible to trade
- Click Continue

Step 5 — Fund Your Account (or Skip for Now)
After setting your username, Polymarket will prompt you to fund your account. You can either:
- Click Deposit Funds to fund immediately
- Click Skip for now to explore the platform first
We recommend skipping for now and reading our funding guide before depositing — it’ll make the process much smoother.

Step 6 — You’re In
That’s it — you now have a Polymarket account. You’ll see your dashboard with your Portfolio and Cash balance (both $0.00 until you deposit).

Step 7 — When You’re Ready to Deposit
When you’re ready to fund your account, click the blue Deposit button in the top right. You’ll see two tabs:
- Use Crypto — transfer USDC directly, connect a wallet, or connect an exchange
- Use Cash — coming soon for some regions
Our full funding guide walks you through every deposit option in detail.

What’s Next?
Now that your account is set up, two things to do:
- Read the funding guide — get USDC into your account so you can start trading
- Explore the World Cup markets — browse everything available before the June 11 kick-off
